Crewe Alexandra winger J’Neil Bennett might spend a few weeks on the sidelines after he sustained an injury during a recent game. He was a major absentee for Crewe Alexandra as they were beaten 2-0 by hosts Bolton Wanderers when the two teams met in a League One clash on Friday night. Bennett missed the Bolton Wanderers game due to a slight hamstring injury.
Spurs loanee Bennett showed his class in the colours of Crewe Alexandra during the game against the Wolves u-23 side and he could have found the back of the net if not for the experienced John Ruddy in the Wolves goal. He was denied by the England international on a number of occasions. The impressive performance from Ruddy ensured that the goals conceded was just three.
It was a big blow for Crewe Alexandra to lose the services of Bennett for the Bolton Wanderers game last week and club officials would be hoping that the young winger makes his return from injury when they take on Gillingham at home this weekend.
While the availability of 19-year-old Spurs loanee Bennett for the Gillingham game is still in doubt, there are no doubts over the status of three players namely Callum Ainley, Travis Johnson and Kayne Ramsay. It has been confirmed that the three players will miss the League One clash with Gillingham. For centre back Donervon Daniels, he’s progressing well from a knee injury, but the Gillingham clash comes too soon for him.
