Crewe Alexandra are in deep trouble at the wrong end of the English League One table especially after their late defeat at home to Bolton Wanderers over the weekend. Crewe Alexandra were set for a draw when the two teams met on Saturday before substitute AmadouBakayoko scored the winning goal for Bolton Wanderers on the stroke of full-time.
The target for Crewe Alexandra at the moment is to escape relegation from League One to League Two and they will need a miracle to achieve this feat after a poor 2021/22 season till date. Charlton Athletic have been handed a fine by the Football Association (FA) for the failure to control their players during a recent League One clash with Crewe Alexandra. In a statement from the FA on Friday, London team Charlton were given a £3,000 fine for the failure to make sure that their players behaved well during the league meeting with Crewe Alexandra last week Wednesday.

Crewe Alexandra winger J’Neil Bennett might spend a few weeks on the sidelines after he sustained an injury during a recent game. He was a major absentee for Crewe Alexandra as they were beaten 2-0 by hosts Bolton Wanderers when the two teams met in a League One clash on Friday night. Sunderland u23 coach Elliott Dickman has confirmed that three important members of the team were part of the travelling squad for the League One clash with Crewe Alexandra. Dickman made this known in his post-match reaction after his youthful u-23 team lost to Newcastle United on Monday night. The Black Cats u-23 team suffered a 2-1 defeat in the Northeast Derby meeting with Newcastle United.

League One club Crewe Alexandra have announced the signing of Guinea-Bissau-born Spanish player Madger Gomes. The midfielder becomes the eleventh signing of the summer at Crewe Alexandra.
The objective for Crewe Alexandra this season is to gain promotion to the English Championship and they have decided to achieve this objective by signing a lot of players. Spanish midfielder Gomes is one of those players and he has put pen to paper on a two-year deal at the club until the summer of 2023. He was signed as a free agent.
