League One club Crewe Alexandra are one of several teams keen to sign Bristol City rising star Ryley Towler. This is according to the exclusive report from the stables of the Football Insider. It was revealed that Crewe Alexandra and three other clubs are in tbe race to sign Towler on loan.
A Bristol City source told Football Insider the club is ready to entertain loan offers for Towler. The 19-year-old midfielder made his debut for his Championship team last season in an FA Cup tie with Sheffield United who were a Premier League team as at then. He made three more appearances last season.
Bristol City officials believe that young midfielder Towler will benefit a great deal from a loan move. League One teams namely Cheltenham Town and Crewe Alexandra believe that the player could boost their options in midfield, while he would need to drop down to League Two, the fourth tier of club football in England to play his football due to interest of teams such as Hartlepool and Rochdale.
Towler is a versatile midfielder who has also played as a left wingback for Bristol City. He was an unsused player in as much as 23 games for the Robins last season. The young player previously spent time on loan at teams such as Taunton Town and Frome Town in non-league football.
Towler is free to leave on loan since Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson has already boosted the options in his midfield for the new season with the signing of experienced midfielders such as Matty James and Andy King. The two players featured under him at Leicester City.
